Purse Project

A friend of mine recently posted a number of things she has created lately and asked what others have been creating lately. I realized that it had been a while since I had made anything which is unusual because I usually have a number of projects I am working on. So these are a few purses I just made. We learned how to make these placemat purses at Enrichment last fall, so I decided to make some the girls would like and they love them. They have been taking them to the store, to church as scripture bags, etc. There was a discussion in Relief Society recently about creating things that I have thought about a lot. Someone brought up this talk by President Uchtdorf and how it really brings joy to create something, especially something that will not be spit up on, eaten quickly, messed up, etc. During the first trimester of this pregnancy I pretty much stopped doing anything like that, so I am recommitting myself to start some sewing projects, plant some flowers and try some new recipes.

Baby Girl #4 is on the way!

I had an ultrasound this morning and we found out that our baby is another girl! She looked perfectly healthy which we are very grateful for. It is always a neat experience to see the baby moving around during the ultrasound. Today, I felt her move for the first time during the ultrasound. I have been thinking for a couple weeks that I should be feeling movement soon. It felt so strong, it really surprised me. So that made the ultrasound experience even better.

Even though the girls were hoping for a boy, they are excited to have another sister. When I picked the girls up from my mom's after my appointment, they had drawn this on the driveway. It says, "We love Baby Girl!"

Rollerskating

This weekend, Emily and Angela's school had a skate night at Skate World. We had never taken the girls rollerskating before, so we decided to try it. Matthew and I both grew up going to Skate World as kids, so it brought back memories going there. For those of you who also went there as kids, it is EXACTLY the same, except more rundown. The SAME orange and red carpet, except patched up with duct tape, same orange booths, etc. Anyways, we had a lot of fun. Fortunately it came back quickly for Matthew and I. I guess it's like riding a bike. I'd forgotten how fun it is, but I'd also forgotten what a hard thing it is to learn how to do. Emily and Angela had a hard time at first, but by the time we left they could go around the rink on their own. They stayed right by the wall most of the time. I thought Matthew and I would take turns staying out with Nicole, but I saw someone else pushing a toddler in a stroller on the rink, so we went back out to the car to get the stroller and it worked great. Even though she fell quite a few times, Emily said it was so much fun and can't wait to go back again. She said that she was jealous of the other kids who could skate a lot faster. I told her she'll be able to do that someday if she keeps doing it.

Deer Valley Ski Trip

This past weekend I went skiing in Deer Valley, UT with my family. Matthew stayed home with the kids so I could go. He has a new appreciation for what I do everyday and I even came home to a clean house! I had a great time skiing and being with my family. We had 2 days of beautiful weather and I have the goggle line on my face to prove it. Since I've only been skiing a few times since I got married and I probably won't be going skiing next year, I really appreciated the opportunity to go. Deer Valley is my favorite place to ski, so that made it even better!
