Dance Recital

Emily and Angela took tap this year and had a great time. Their dance was to Lollipop and Candyman and it was so cute! I was so proud of how well they knew their dance (no looking at the teacher this year) and they smiled and performed well the whole time.

This group of girls has been in the same dance class for 3 years now and they have become great friends. They are sad they will be in different classes next year.

Their aunt Melissa was in town and it was so fun that she could come to the recital.

Family BBQ

My aunt and uncle own a house on a large property with this awesome play area. My mom arranged for us and 2 of my cousins and their families that live in town to go out for a Saturday evening and have a BBQ. It was such a fun place for the kids to play and the adults to visit.

Playing on the tennis ball "golf" course.

They took us on an atv tour of some of their property and to see some animals at their neighbor's. The kids loved riding in the trailer.

 Dorky picture :)

We ended with smores around the fire pit. We're so thankful my aunt and uncle are willing to host whenever we want to come out!

Angela's School Music Program

Angela made a cute farmer in her school music program. She did a great job playing the xylophone.

Fountains

The first weekend in June was really hot, it felt like summer, so I took the kids to some fountains. It was Ashley's first time to do this and it was so fun to see her splash in the water and experience this for the first time. She was so cute running around and kicking the water and getting more confident putting her hands in the fountains.

Bike Riding

We have gotten in a number of bike rides this year already, despite all the rain we've had. I'm looking forward to some more rides in warmer weather.

On Memorial Day we rode a section of the Banks Vernonia trail with the kids. After awhile of breezing along I realized we had been going slightly downhill since the beginning of the ride. Sure enough, the way back seemed A LOT farther and it was a long, hard ride back for the girls. They were troopers though and both said their legs were sore the next day.

I took this while riding my bike. Angela is right in front of me, then Emily, then Matthew with the trailer. It was a beautiful ride, I love this path.

Matthew took Angela on a fun ride for a daddy/daughter date. They drove to the Sunset Transit Center, took their bikes on the Max to the zoo and then rode bikes from the zoo back to the transit center. There is a nice path along the freeway. Matthew and Emily did this ride a year or two ago and Angela was excited she was old enough to do it. I haven't been on that path yet so I think it's my turn next.

My mom and I took this picture while on a ride in Helvetia, trying to get the field of red clover in the background, but you can't really see it. It was really gorgeous!

Matthew and I have been able to go on a few rides together which is really fun. For a date night, we rode on the Springwater Corridor which is a paved path starting just south of OMSI and goes along the water front for a few miles before turning east all the way to Boring, OR. We only had an hour before it was getting dark, so we didn't go that far of course. After getting back to OMSI, we rode up the waterfront. Thai food on the way home ended a fun date!
