Emily finished out the soccer season much more positive than my last post about it. She says "of course" she wants to play next year. As the season progressed, she stopped complaining about side aches and got more involved in the games. A couple of weeks ago at practice she got hit in the face with the ball really good and it knocked her over. I wasn't there, but Matthew thought, "oh great, now she's going to be even more intimidated by the ball." She sat out for a couple of minutes and then she went back in and played more aggressively than she ever had. Then she made a goal at practice and was so excited about it. I think she started actually trying to get the ball and make goals instead of trying not to get hurt. She made her first goal at a game last week which was very exciting! She really had a lot of fun, especially being a part of a team and making new friends. We lucked out that we only had one rainy game and one rainy practice. That is very unusual here! After watching Emily all fall, Angela is very excited to play next year too, so we'll look forward to 2 girls in soccer next year!

I'm glad Emily ended up having a good (and not too wet) soccer experience. :) Cute picture too.
That's great she ended up loving the sport... that's so fun to watch! And she even looks like a pro in her picture!! =)
I'm so proud of her! I so wish we had signed Olivia up for soccer this year...maybe we'll catch the spring soccer sign-ups!
